How to Develop a Personalized Education Plan
Cascade Independent High School (CIH)
Cascade Independent High School was
organized under the laws of Washington State in 1994 to provide a
recognized and authorized education for students in grades 3 through
12. As a state authorized educational institution, CIHS is empowered
to conduct teacher inservice training, award credit for courses
completed and award diplomas to students completing all state
requirements and EALR’s (Essential Academic Learning Requirements)
in the state. CIHS, therefore, provides an education at least as
rigorous and at least as complete as any other state certified high
school, public or private, in Washington. Additionally, CIHS offers
an extension program through which students may earn credits for work
done independently, out of state, or utilizing alternative methods of
instruction and evaluation. These credits may then be transferred to
local institutions, or may lead to the completion of a diploma,
earned entirely independently. CIHS must (and does) meet all state
regulations and reporting procedures, and is re-certified annually by
the state. (For further information regarding state certification,
school standing or annual review, contact the Office of the
Superintendent of Public Instruction—private school office, Old
Capitol Building, Olympia, WA.)
We at Cascade Independent High
School take delight in offering a personal and personalized education
to each of our students. We believe that many of our students end up
receiving the finest, broadest and most rigorous education in the
state, possibly in the nation. Some of our students receive state
and national scholarships and awards, and some go on to both academic
and public acclaim. Naturally, we are pleased to have been able to
work with them. We assure, via a personal interview with each
graduate, that every student who completes his education with us has
met or exceeded all requirements.
